When we ask money to come to us, money often gets to decide how it wants to show up.
If manifesting a winning lottery ticket was just a matter of declaring desire, we’d have a winner every time. But what about the person who wins $5? They’re a winner.
I’ve come to realize that so much of our personal practices just come down to perspective.
I Know it When I See it
There is no doubt that manifesting something big is exciting, but what if instead of it showing up at once, you received a small piece every day. Would you notice? Would it feel like an accumulation? Would it be gratifying? Would it feel like progress? Would it be frustrating?
There’s no doubt that it would feel different but so many times pieces of our manifestations arrive without us even noticing. This is especially true when it comes to our finances.
Abundance Arrives
Easy to overlook, here are some ways financial abundance might be showing up for you:
- A surprise sale on exactly something you’ve been waiting to buy.
- Getting paid a day earlier than normal right in the nick of time before your rent check clears.
- Being able to easily fix something you thought was broken so now you don’t have to replace it.
- Receiving a rebate you forgot you send in months ago.
- Having a credit in an account you did not know about.
Here are a few examples of how I have been able to identify ‘unconventional’ financial abundance over the past few months:
- Being a homeowner means doing fun things like washing the vinyl siding annually. In an effort to efficiently wash my house, I ordered a 2.5 gallon container of house wash online from my local hardware store. About a half hour after I placed the online order for pickup, they called to tell me they were out of the cleaner. Instead, the person offered to sell me 3 single gallons for the price of the 2.5 gallon, saving me almost $6 and giving me free product.
- I purchased a pair of shoes on a splurge because I loved them. When they were falling apart just a few months later, I emailed the company on a whim not expecting to get a response. Surprisingly they reached out and sent me a voucher for a new pair of my choosing at any price point. I was able to upgrade my original purchase while also advocating for myself in the process.
- When an envelope from Neilson arrived in the mail, I wasn’t sure it wasn’t a scam (I mean, are they still around?). Turns out, it wasn’t a scam at all. I could see through a window in the envelope that it held a crisp $1 bill. The letter stated the dollar was for opening the envelope and that if I filled out the enclosed survey, they would send me $5. I did and they did! Free $6 in my pocket.
- The day after I wrote this blog I got another Neilson envelope in the mail with $2. The letter said I would be getting $4 in another letter and if I filled out the survey they would send $20. I am 100% certain that expressing appreciation for the initial envelope led to this addition series.
Rituals & Practices
One of my favorite rituals to invite in money is so easy! Using an infused Abundance oil in a roller bottle, I draw the money symbol ($) on the inside of my left wrist. Below it, with the oil again, I draw an arrow towards my body/up my arm. As a righty, my left side is where I receive energy so this is my way of inviting financial abundance into my life. That’s it!
You could use a more complex personal sigil but for me, ‘$’ is as clear as it gets when I’m talking about money. If you don’t have a roller of oil, simply trace your right index finger on your left wrist in the same motion. This daily practice in it’s most accessible form requires no supplies or tools, only your intention and attention!
A more after-the-fact practice I have is to always acknowledge when money has come into my life. Simply saying thank you and appreciating what has arrived is a beautiful energetic reinforcement that you are ready and willing to receive. You are confirming that you’re paying attention and are appreciative of what the Universe has brought into your life. The more you are able to acknowledge and appreciate, the more instances of financial abundance arriving you’ll see!
Techniques to Try
Affirmations can be helpful but they can also trip us up. Trying to balance being specific but still open is a delicate dance. Additionally, if there is still some part of us that believes we are not worthy, ready, or capable, it will be difficult to make it all happen. In an effort to balance all these things, try starting your affirmation with: I invite in…
This seemingly simple starting place allows us to open ourselves to possibility without harsh parameters. Some examples of using this start may include:
- I invite in unexpected money.
- I invite in financial security.
- I invite in confidence in my personal finances.
Find a phrasing that works best for you and feels most resonate. Over time the notion of inviting in will become second nature and you may find what you invite arrives quicker and stronger as your practice deepens.
Scarcity and Fear
Scarcity is real and it brings fear into our lives.
When scarcity is driving the car, it can be hard to know where we are even going. Taking time to honestly reflect on what it is we really want can help to lessen the grasp of scarcity and free us to look in new places.
For example, I knew years ago I wanted to buy a house. I wanted it to be cute and affordable and in a great neighborhood and all the other checklist things. It wasn’t happening and it felt very far away if not entirely unattainable. What I had not considered was what that house meant to me. As someone with difficult landlords, dangerous neighbors, and unfamiliar neighborhoods, owning a home was a symbol of me really wanting safety, security, and stability.
Once I was able to identify what the conditions were that I most wanted and how I wanted to feel, I was able to seek them out along other paths. Safety was an apartment not on a first floor, security was a long lease instead of month-to-month, and stability was a local landlord invested in the property. This new checklist was about me feeling safe, secure, and stable regardless of who owned the place I was living. It freed me from feeling like a failure who could not buy a house and instead allowed me to relax and settle in to a home.
Manifesting Magick
Here are my top 3 takeaways:
- Look for the way pieces of big manifestations arrive; small wins add up!
- Acknowledge and appreciate every manifestation regardless of size or amount.
- Be clear about what it is you deeply desire and open yourself to what form it will take.
